Our SJSU students are raising money to build a full scale model of a 16 foot long section (guideway, supports, cabin, solar array, controls, etc.) of a solar-powered, podcar automated transportation network (ATN) for the Maker Faire in mid-May (May 17th and 18th). Any money left over will go towards the building of a full scale, operational test track starting in the Fall semester (new academic year).
Please do what you can to help us. Please also share this website link with all of your fellow EAASV members, everyone in your professional network, and with anyone else who you think might be interested. Thank you.
The YouTube link to the Uppsala Solar Skyways video is below. It is a very good, animated portrayal of our Solar ATN concept. Please feel free to share it with anyone you would like.
By developing and implementing Solar ATNs, we will reduce traffic accidents and traffic congestion, decrease the emission of greenhouse gases and air pollution, and diminish dependence upon fossil fuels. Additional benefits include increased employee productivity and reduced stress due to less time spent in traffic jams. The development and implementation of Solar ATNs will also create a myriad of new green jobs in a new, burgeoning green industry.
In case you can't make it to our event, you can always see it live on YouTube or later on our Video page
